Motocrossing: Ride the Sandy Ocean

posted on 4 February 2012

One of my favorite hobbies is riding motocross bikes. The sound of a dirt bike's engine reving while you try and ride your way up a steep hill is something unique, something a road bike can never match, and I love wearing motocross clothing. The feeling of the suspension coils supressing before you go off the end of a dirt jump in anticipation of the flight ahead is simply magical. The best thing about rideing a dirt bike is the fact you can ride a dirt bike almost anymore, its the landrover of the bike world and its built for going on an adventure. The only thing that can really limit you is your ability as a biker. I have road my bike at many exotic and unique places around the world, but there is one place that really stands out above the rest. I like to call it the sandy ocean because thats certainly what it looks like, I am talking about the Arizona Desert. The Arizona Desert is perfect, it offers the best of both worlds, onroad and offroad rideing. Stay on the main roads and just cruise for hours, enjoying the scenery. The other option is to take the bike offroad at pretty much any point your common sense tells you is safe enough and have some fun on the unique and diverse terrain. If you have a bike I suggest you head down to Arizona as soon as possible, if you dont renting a dirt bike for a day is always a cheap and viable option.
