Beyond a little tiding up, I don't think you could find too many people who legitimately enjoy cleaning, at least not garbage and the like. I've cleaned slimline oil tanks and it's no fun. It's usually a dirty, germ-filled experience that is not only exhausting, but very dull as well. When I was 17 years old I took a job with a local company to spend the week following a large outdoor music festival cleaning up the fairgrounds. While this seemed like an easy job on the surface, in the end, it proved to be anything but easy. I have never seen so much litter in my life, most of which I had no desire to lay my hands on, but I was forced to do what I signed up to do. I spent six and a half days with a crew of eleven others cleaning up what felt like miles and miles of garbage, emptying waste bins, and other disgusting tasks. There was broken glass everywhere, a decade's worth of cans and bottles, and even clothing items strewn everywhere. Sure, the pay was decent, but I will never undertake a job like that again. It simply just wasn't worth it, and I'm lucky I got out of there without getting sick or catching some sort of disease. |
