For quite some time now I have heard of Jamie making plans of doing some major house work on their family home in the province. I have not been there though Jamie has invited me a gazillion times to go visit but according to Elaine the place is huge. Its Jamie's ancestral home and many generations from her dad's side have lived there. Having been promoted a year ago to senior operations manager provided Jamie with all the money she needs to make huge home improvement plans to their ancestral home which has already been willed to her by her parents. I find that last bit of information a bit odd since her parents are both alive and well but I guess that's just how they want to do things. Earlier I overheard Jamie on the phone talking about rewiring house cost and I cannot help but gasped when I heard the figure she repeated seemingly the total cost for rewiring the entire house. It's a very huge amount and I cannot believe Jamie has that kind of money in the bank. |

I am a frustrated entertainer. My home is 1960's tri-level without a formal dining room. The kitchen has a section for a dining room set which has served us well for informal meals. However, the table seats only six persons. My dream is to have a formal dining room with a table that could seat a large number of people. This would be especially nice for holiday meals or dinner parties. I enjoy cooking and entertaining, but this has been really limited for me without a dining room. We have a large patio off the kitchen which I would like to turn into a dining room. I would like it to have an oak hardwood floor installed and large windows. I would use oriental area rugs on the hardwood floor and hang some elegant draperies. I have seen many lovely antique china closets and buffets that I would like to purchase for this room. I would also like to install an antique lighting fixture as a chandelier. . I can imagine using my good linen and china to serve an elegant Thanksgiving meal by candlelight in such a room. I would also like to have a small powder room put in off the dining room since we have no bathroom on the ground level. I think these changes would make my home a much better place to entertain guests. |
